Turning Safety into Stability
Door Step Project provides affordable housing and support so survivors can rebuild independent lives after leaving shelter.
After leaving shelter, many survivors are ready to work and move forward — but stable housing is still out of reach. Door Step provides a stable place to live while survivors rebuild routines, finances, and confidence.
How Door Step Works
Time to Stabilize
Survivors stay long enough to rebuild routines, finances, and confidence before moving to permanent housing.
Affordable Housing
Homes in ordinary neighborhoods near work, school, and childcare.
Supportive Community
Volunteers and community partners walk alongside survivors as they move toward independence.
Our History
Opening doors to better futures
Established in 2017, Doorstep Project Inc. was founded with a commitment to assist families needing affordable housing as they transition out of Bridges Domestic Violence Center. Our organization was born out of a desire to provide a safe and supportive environment for domestic violence survivors as they rebuild their lives.
Our Team
A home is more than a roof
At Doorstep Project Inc., our dedicated team is the heart of our mission to provide safe and supportive transitional housing for domestic violence survivors. Each member brings a unique set of skills and a shared passion for empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.

The Difference Stable Housing Makes
When housing is stable, everything else can begin to work.
Parents stay employed. Children remain in the same schools. Stress decreases and planning becomes possible again.
Door Step turns safety into lasting stability.
A Family's Story
